prob is when i try to use the new drivers from Nvidia they make my whole system have a fatal eror crash during boot.

I never use latest drivers. At the moment I'm still using Forceware 71.24, those work like a charm for my 6600GT.

I tend to give new drivers a long probationary period, which involves me checking forums etc. for a few weeks to see how others are coping with them.

Have you tried Windows Updates? Maybe they have some newer drivers there that might work with your card. If not, you might want to search google on how to completely uninstall your current drivers and install the new ones so they wouldn't conflict.

Forgot about this, head over to www.guru3d.com and get their driver cleaner for when you're uninstalling drivers. Otherwise you end up with nasty orphaned files and registry entries, and it just affects performance in a negative way.
